100 Years of Father Eustáquio's Mission in Brazil

With deep joy and gratitude, we present the official commemorative artwork for the Centennial of the Blessed Father Eustáquio’s arrival in Brazil — a visual tribute that expresses, through color and symbol, the spirituality, legacy, and mission of this faithful servant of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Created by São Paulo watercolor artist Tati Araripe, the piece was made using professional watercolor technique on 100% cotton paper (30 x 40 cm) and will become part of the Padre Eustáquio Museum collection after the Holy Year celebrations.

Each detail is a symbol that speaks to the heart.

At the center: Blessed Father Eustáquio sscc, missionary of health and peace, a servant on the road, pilgrim of Hope.

Top corners: Founders of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts — Mother Henriette Aymer de la Chevalerie sscc (Good Mother) and Father Pierre Coudrin sscc (Good Father).

Top center: The Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, the foundation and goal of Blessed Father Eustáquio’s vocation SSCC.

Bottom corners: Saint Damien of Molokai sscc: An inspiration and model for Father Eustáquio in his mission and care for those who suffer.

Saint Joseph: A powerful intercessor for Blessed Father Eustáquio.

The four churches: Representing the regions in Brazil where Father Eustáquio exercised his ministry:

  1. The Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of Abadia in Romaria, MG;
  2. The Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in Poá, SP;
  3. The Church of Saint Lucy in Patrocínio, MG;
  4. The Shrine of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte, MG.

The flowers: The red flowers against a blue background refer to the flag of the Netherlands, the homeland of Blessed Father Eustáquio.
