On Monday, June 15, devotees, religious and faithful gathered at the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte (Brazil) to celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving for the 20th anniversary of the beatification of Father Eustaquio, a milestone that continues to inspire generations to live the faith with simplicity and charity.
The celebration was presided over by Father Edvaldo Carneiro sscc, Provincial Superior of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Brazil-Paraguay, and concelebrated by Fathers Edmar Oliveira sscc, Rector of the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace; Vinicius Maciel sscc, Vice-Postulator of the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Eustaquio; and Osvânio Mariano sscc, Vicar of the Sanctuary.
In his homily, Father Edvaldo recalled that, two decades ago, it was not only Belo Horizonte or Brazil that celebrated this event, but the entire Church, which recognized the life of a priest who knew how to live his vocation to the fullest. "Blessed Eustaquio becomes for each of us a real model of holiness, of being missionaries, propagators of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the proclamation of health and peace," the Provincial emphasized.
United in prayer, we ask God that, according to His will, we may soon also celebrate the canonization of the one who dedicated his life to proclaiming to all the message of Health and Peace.
