6th Provincial Chapter of Japan-Philippines

With the motto "new wine, new wineskins" (Mt 9:17), the 6th Provincial Chapter of the Province of Japan-Philippines is being held in the community of Tomobe (Japan) from 6 to 10 November.

Fourteen brothers are taking part. Also present are Alberto Toutin (Superior General) and Pankras Olak, (Provincial of Indonesia and facilitator), Lambertus Enga, (Vicar of the Province of Indonesia) and Romeka Situmorang, (coordinator of the territory of Asia.)

The Chapter will be looking at the future of the SSCC mission in the two countries of this province and which structures can best serve it. This last point is about exploring the transition from being a province of Japan-Philippines to linking with the province of Indonesia.

Alberto, in his opening remarks, insisted on the fact that in rethinking the SSCC mission in this area we have to take into account the international dimension of our religious family, especially for our present and future presences in Asia: "What we decide here in these days will have an impact not only on this area but also on the whole Congregation".
