Two months have been fulfilled from the start of the program in preparation for final vows in the Philippines. During July, the eight participants were invited to make a tour through his vocation story in the Congregation. In August, they have received contributions to recognize the experience of our charism in the brothers and sisters who have preceded us in our vocation and mission. This happened through figures such as Damien of Molokai, Eustaquio van Lieshout, the Martyrs of Spain, Esteban Gumucio, Rolf Reichenbach and our General Superiors. Several brothers and sisters, residents in the Philippines, have collaborated in this task.
They have also carried out other activities such as weekly pastoral visits to people living in poverty or limitation; and meetings with the communities of brothers and sisters in the Philippines. Since in the group, there are participants from seven nationalities, there has been time for everyone to introduce their country and culture, and the presence of the Congregation in each of them. It has also been time for retreat days and spiritual accompaniment.
Starting September, it has begun a new phase of the program. It is a month of insertion in the two parishes served by the Congregation in Metro Manila, in the diocese of Novaliches: in sectors of Bagong Silang and Bagbag. Their parish priests, Ross de la Cruz and Noel Flaviano, were recently in Cainta to prepare this experience with the eight brothers of the program. They have been divided into two groups, one for each parish, where they will live with local families for two weeks. After this first time, the groups will exchange their places and will continue so until the end of September.
