Provincial Johnathan Hurrell, and members of the provincial government of the United States Province, Stan Kolasa, Martin Gomes, Herman Gomes and Richard Kupo, along with Sudhir Nayak, the Regional Superior of India and Martin O’Loghlen representing the West Coast Delegation, traveled in early November to the Island of Fiji in the South Pacific to visit the SSCC Community there.
Formator Dedi Riberu, Brian Guerrini and brothers in temporary vows are currently residing in housing provided by the Marist Community at the Pacific Regional Seminary which the students are attending.
The purpose of the trip was two-fold: it gave the government an opportunity to determine how the students were coping with their new surroundings in the South Pacific and experience the atmosphere which will help to guide their years in formation; it also offered a chance to make the decision to formally endorse the erection of an SSCC House of Formation in Fiji and pave the way for establishing a permanent SSCC residence there.
