For more than thirty years, the customary assembly of the province of Brazil has been celebrated in the Casa Anchieta of the Jesuits, on the Beach of Boracéia (Bertioga, São Paulo). This year, thirty-six brothers from the Province and the Region of Paraguay gathered together there from January 24 through 31.
Two days were dedicated to ongoing formation, reflecting on the letter of the Superiors General and the commemorative edition of the Constitutions, with their studies and historical documents, the paragraphs selected from the Rule of St. Benedict and the text itself of the Constitutions and Statutes.
The other days were dedicated to diverse matters of the life of the province. The highlights were the liturgical celebrations, fraternal gatherings and time for recreation.
On Sunday the 29th, the group went to the parish of San Emidio in Vila Prudente in the capital, Sao Paulo where Novice Edvaldo Carneiro made his first profession. The provincial Sergio Stein sscc presided at the Eucharist in which a big group of brothers participated along with relatives and friends of Edvaldo who had come from Ferraz de Vasconcelos, the hometown of Edvaldo. SSCC sisters and members of the Secular Branch sscc. were also present.
