From July 14 to 17, Casa Dom Luciano in Brasília hosted nearly 70 postulators of canonization causes, coming from various dioceses and religious congregations across the country. The event, organized by the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB), served as a space for exchange, theological formation, and ecclesial communion, focused on the mission of promoting and accompanying the processes of recognizing holiness in the Church.
Among the participants, Father Vinícius Maciel sscc, Vice-Postulator of the cause for the canonization of Blessed Father Eustáquio, stood out, as well as Father João Lucas sscc, who attended with special interest in the possible opening of the process for Father Máximo Sada, sscc, a priest who was murdered while giving a blessing in a home in Rio de Janeiro.
The meeting featured the valuable contribution of Monsignor Antônio Manuel Saldanha e Albuquerque, Secretary of the Studium of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints in the Vatican. In his words, he reminded the attendees that “holiness is the fruit of divine grace, welcomed with fidelity and lived out in everyday life.”
This event renewed the participants’ commitment to the mission of making visible the holiness lived by so many men and women of faith in Brazil. May this journey continue to illuminate the Church with the witness of those who, in the silence of their lives, reflect the face of God.
