The ss.cc sisters in Bagong Silang – Philippines, have lived the Good News of love, with two evangelical experiences.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me,. Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Mt 25:34-40.
This year 2020 has been marked of COVID 19, the community had giving but has received much more during this time of suffering and poverty.
The first merciful practice in Bagong Silang community is about miss Belen (in Philippine language ate Belen), is a senior citizen woman who lives in the street with mental problems, every day she is going to sisters house to pray, to shout, to talk, and the sister offer to her a cup of coffee, some food, medicine, clothing. During the pandemic, she received from the government US. 165, she donated for the feedings projects US.12. The sisters know her situation and they offer to her to keep this money when she needs, but she refused to keep her money, she said please “give to the one doesn’t have to eat and to drink”.
The second merciful practice was the voluntaries from San Fernando – Cadiz, Spain. The head is the volunteer’s is Fr. Fito sscc, and miss Olivia. Well during the pandemic, with the quarantine uncertainty and close the borders, they risked thrusting in the Holy Spirit totally that the 40 feet container will be arrived from Spain to Philippines; they make real to wear the naked, visit the sick and giving hope and happiness, since the arrival of the container, advances Christmas, God is with us.
