In the afternoon of 30 August, a solemn Eucharist was celebrated to mark the occasion of the liturgical feast of Blessed Eustaquio van Lieshout sscc. The Eucharist was celebrated at the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte (Brazil). At the beginning of the celebration, the rector of the Shrine, Vinicius Maciel sscc, welcomed those present as well as those who, due to the Covid-19 measures, were following the broadcast on television, YouTube and social networks. There were very few people in the church, but the joy of songs and communion with the various regions of Brazil and other countries in Latin America, Europe and Asia was overflowing.
Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo, Archbishop of Belo Horizonte, and President of the Episcopal Conference of Brazil, presided over the ceremony. In his homily, he spoke of his great joy to be once again in the sanctuary with the Fathers of the Sacred Hearts. He stressed that Blessed Eustáquio is a missionary of health and peace, "we can rely on his intercession."
The evening before his Feast Day, an image of Blessed Eustáquio was processed through the streets of Belo Horizonte, accompanied by SSCC religious.
