On Tuesday, 14th April In a family Eucharist at his home in Viña del Mar, Gonzalo Duarte García de Cortázar celebrated his 60th anniversary of religious profession. He made his first vows on April 17, 1960, together with Fernando Vives. Present at the celebratory Mass were Rosalía Bouzot, who has been looking after him for more than 25 years, and Alberto Toutin, who presided at the Mass.
In the Mass, Gonzalo gave special thanks for the gift of faith received from his parents, formators and brothers in the congregation. There were also prayers for the people who are suffering a lot on account of the isolation resulting from the coronavirus; for those in prison, the elderly living alone or in nursing homes, the mentally ill. They then shared a home-cooked lunch.
