The "re-opening" of "The Samaritan," an immigrant house in Bojay , (Hidalgo, MEXICO) took place on Saturday June 20. The house is run by a community of sscc sisters, with the support of many volunteers. A few months ago they received financial support to improve the facilities. Once the work was finished, the blessing of the center followed.
Juan Pedro Juarez Melendez, Bishop of Tula Hidalgo blessed the place. Several sscc brothers (including three temporary professed from US) attended the celebration, as well as religious men and women of the Scalabrini Congregation, brothers in formation with the Passionists, parishioners, volunteers of "Doctors without Borders" and many other volunteers and friends. Migrants were guests par excellence. Around 100 passed through the house.
This celebration invites us once again to work for the needy, to continue working for justice, to pray for our Central American peoples who cross Mexico to the United States. "We give them little, but the little we give is given with the heart.", said the bishop.
