On Thursday March 31 Saint Joseph´s, the SSCC School in Seville which this year will celebrate 60 years, celebrated the blessing of new facilities at the school. It took three years of work to complete a renovation that includes a parking space in the basement of the building and a set of new classrooms and a new theater and sports center.
Cardinal Carlos Amigo Vallejo presided at the celebration. First there was Mass in the SSCC parish, concelebrated by about 20 SSCC brothers and with massive participation of alumni, teachers, students, families, non-teaching staff, volunteers, collaborators and, in general, of the entire school community. During his homily, Cardinal thanked the Congregation, "who 60 years ago came to Seville to put in place here its home, its spirit, its apostolic commitment."
The blessing of the new facilities took place in the courtyard named for St. Joseph. Later an academic assembly was held in the renovated hall of the school. The investment of the Congregation in the school is a response to the challenges of education today and in the future. The current principal, Pedro Gordillo sscc, thanked the Cardinal, always close to the Congregation, and remembered the many members of the Congregation who have served generously in this work. Pedro concluded with a prayer: "That the life of the Lord, the true owner of the school (“cole”) continue to be handed on until the next reform."
