On November 9th, Rosa Maria Ferreiro, General Superior, and Cristina Naranjo, General Councilor, arrived at the community of Bhubaneswar, India. There the sisters received them with a special Indian rite. Before entering the house, two young candidates washed their feet. After that, they entered under a shower of flower petals.
The community is formed by 5 sisters, two from Hawaii and three from India. During these days, the community is sharing its live and mission with Rosa and Cristina. It was very interesting to visit the projects where the sisters work in collaboration with the Brothers, always at the service of the poorest. They have visited the leper villages of Jaghanath, Nerhu Pali and Choudwar. They have witnessed the beautiful work that they do in “Aymer Weaving Center” for the promotion of women. All the projects are centered on the areas of education, health and rehabilitation.
They have also been able to see the work that the sisters do in Formation. This community accompanies the candidates in their process of personal and vocational growth.
Taking advantage of the presence of Rosa Maria, Nirmala and Vandana, sisters of this community, will make their final profession on the November 14th.
