Feast of all saints
Jean Blaise Mwanda and Derek Laverty left Tijuca, Brazil and made their way via São Paolo to the town of Presidente Franco (Ciudad del Este), Paraguay where sscc brothers have been living since 1975. The brothers staff the parish of Our Lady of Fatima which attends 12 communities. Our sscc sisters, who founded the Sacred Hearts Educational Centre (school) live in the parish and are involved both in parish ministry and in the school.
During our short visit we were delighted to be able to concelebrate mass on the Feast of All Saints which coincided with the 22nd anniversary of priesthood of Maximino Peña. We also met with each brother and had lunch with our sisters and an evening conversation and meal with the secular branch.
On Sunday, 3rd November we head for Asunción, the capital of Paraguay.
