The General Councillors, Alicia Mamani and Mary McCloskey were in Belgium from the 25th January until the 4th February for the Canonical Visit to the Delegation. The Belgium Delegation is composed of 3 communities; those sisters who live in the Vogelzang Home, those who live in the Delegation house in Priorijlaan and the those who live in the new community house in Louvain. There were many formal and informal opportunities to meet and share the reality of life in the Delegation, in an atmosphere of openness, simplicity and trust, with the Animation team and with each community in turn.
There was also an opportunity to visit the former school of the sisters in Tongres and hear about its incorporation into the plans for ensuring the future of catholic education in the diocese . The director of the ASBL, (not profit association, which runs the Vogelzang home) also updated us on their plans for expansion.
