On Friday, November 23, the brothers and sisters in Rome met in the General House of our sisters. The meeting began with the celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Derek Laverty, vicar general. At the beginning, Patricia Villarroel, the Superior General, invited us to remember the Good Mother in a fraternal and joyful way. In the homily, Fernando Cordero made reference to some of the writings of the Good Mother and spoke about the need to convert “Black Friday" to "Green Friday", praying that the Congregation be missionaries of hope in the midst of the needs of our world. Afterwards, at lunch, we shared our experiences as newcomers to the Eternal City. Without a doubt, the atmosphere was both joyful and fraternal.
Alberto Toutin, our Superior General, was unable to be with us due to a prior commitment to a meeting of the Union of Superiors General. However he did write a beautiful message, in which he recalls how the Good Mother, despite "the precariousness of life and the lack of people prepared to work in education were not an impediment to responding with audacity to the pastoral urgencies of their time ".
