On Thursday 25 July at the General House took place the 65th anniversary of priesthood ordination of our Brother Angelo Marcandella. He came to the General House to feast with our community this event. He celebrated the thanksgiving mass. In his homely, he stressed that he lived this Eucharist as if it was the first and the last one. The first one because he remembered the enthusiasm and the commitment to the people of God since the beginning. The last one seeing behind him with gratitude the long years of consecration to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in which service he lives and he wish to die, as we said in our religious profession. Damien de Molokai. His compatriot has been and is still a source of inspiration. Then we shared a feast lunch in the joy and the simplicity.
Angelo Marcandella belongs to the Flemish Delegation. He was born on October 6, 1930, joined the Congregation in 1949. He was ordained priest on July 27, 1954 in Zandhoven (Belgium). He is right now 88 years old. He lives and ministries in the north of Italy in the diocese of Piacenza, as parish priest of the parish saint Anthony of Padua.
