As a custom well founded, the two communities of the General Houses of brothers and sisters met the night of December 24 in the house of the brothers, to celebrate the Eucharist, at which they renewed their religious profession in memory of the profession of the founders on the Christmas night of 1800. The next day, on the 25th, following the papal blessing in St. Peter's Square, the two communities met again - this time at the sisters' house - to have lunch together.
By coincidence, on the same 24th, Malik, a young Senegalese arrived at the General House of the brothers. He will stay with us until July, while he studies in Rome. In this way, the General House resumes its commitment to host refugees. The arrival of our new guest right on Christmas Eve, gave a special flavor to Christmas this year, in which, as always, we celebrate that Christ came to his own, and his own did not receive him...
Let us trust that some people in difficulty can find refuge with us.
