We, the General House community, closed the Eustaquio Year on Friday the 4th of December 2015 with an Adoration dedicated to our sick brothers, families and friends. The adoration was animated by our General Superior, Javier Álvarez-Ossorio, who was the brother in charge of the liturgy in that week.
The two symbols, oil and water, were present with the Blessed Sacrament on the altar. The Blessed Sacrament is the presence of Jesus as the bread of life for us. Water is the symbol of the presence of God the Father, the source of life for all, and the oil is the presence of the Holy Spirit who anoints us all, especially the sick.
With the presence of the spirit of our brother Eustaquio we remember all our sick brothers and sisters, young and old in the Congregation. We also entrusted our sick family members and those sick persons who asked for our prayers. We thanked God, and also asked His blessing for the people who serve and take care of our sick brothers. We entrusted all of them to the care of Jesus through the intersession of our brother Eustaquio.
By having this adoration with Eustaquio we close our Year of Health and Reconciliation, and ready to welcome the Year of Mercy that will begin next Tuesday on the 8th of December 2015.
