Day of Recollection in Usseau (France)

After a long period of confinement, the "Halte du Cœur" (a pause for the heart) resumed and this time it took place in Usseau on Saturday 23 October. Choosing this date made it possible to kill two birds with one stone: a day of recollection and at the end of the afternoon an official ceremony for the unveiling of a plaque on the forecourt of the church in memory of Father Marie-Joseph Coudrin.

Very close to the grannary and three days after Saint Caprais, the theme for the "Halte du cœur"- led by Father Bernard Couronne was: "The grannary of adoration, source of the mission”.

About thirty parishioners participated to which we must add the laity of the Secular Branch, some sisters of the Grand Maison and friends of the Congregation.

For some, it was a time of happy learning about the history and the experience of Father Coudrin in the "granary" of La Motte, a fertile place of confinement!  There then followed a time for the Eucharist presided - over by Fr. Christian Flottes - in the superb and freshly renovated little Romanesque church of Usseau, in the presence of the relic of Saint Damien, patron of the parish since 2014.

The meal that followed gave space for beautiful fraternal exchanges which continued from the beginning of the afternoon with the unmissable pilgrimage to the grannary of La Motte.  After this the retreatants returned to the church for a time of  adoration in front of the exposed Blessed Sacrament.

The day ended with the unveiling of the plaque placed on the forecourt of the church in the presence of Father Stéphane Boutet, former parish priest of Usseau, the Mayor and councillors and friends who had come to join.  To celebrate this happy event, a celebrated wine brought all together in the new function room of the town hall.

A big thank you to Marie Madeleine, a member of the Secular Branch and to her husband, who live in Usseau, and who invested a lot in the spiritual and material success of this very beautiful day.
