To celebrate the Year of Blessed Eustaquio, the General Government proposed to local communities a day to celebrate healing and reconciliation. Our community of the General House dedicated Saturday, March 14, for the celebration.
We started the day with Mass, as usual, presided by our brother Remi Liando. After breakfast, we continued our day of reconciliation with a motivation prepared by our brother Alberto Toutin, whereby placing us in the Lenten context and based on the testimony of Blessed Eustaquio, we were invited to a morning of prayer and personal encounter with the Lord. We had a delicious lunch prepared by our house superior, Father Paul Lejeune. At 16:30 we gathered in the chapel for the celebration of Reconciliation.
The celebration of Reconciliation was the great moment of the day. Presided by our brother Felipe Lazcano, we were invited, with the Word of God, to make an examination of conscience in preparation for the sacrament of confession. We were honored to have two priests of the Oblates of St. Joseph, Fr. Brian and Fr. Gabriel, who kindly celebrated the sacrament.
Besides sacramental reconciliation, the great aim of this day was a reconciliation with the brothers of the community, so that the embrace of peace marked the big step of a healed and reconciled community. We put in our chapel the symbol of water and oil with which we remember this celebration with great faith through the whole year.
We end this day of reconciliation with a festive dinner at our house, communicating the joy of our family spirit. We take this opportunity to share a photo shoot of the visitation of the General Government to India, visit our General Secretary to Peru and excursion of students to the snowy city of Ovindoli.
Blessed Father Eustaquio, pray for us!
