Our five new novices joined us at our monthly day of renewal in California. Fr. Rich Danyluk sscc opened our session with a moving reading on God's unconditional love. After profound and heartfelt sharing by the novices, who began their novitiate in January, we had a mass led by Fr. Chris Santangelo sscc, who preached on the love and mercy of God. After Fr. Chris’s homily, the novices gave their promises, beautifully composed by each, on the three evangelical counsels of poverty, celibacy, and obedience.
Sr. Brid Long, SSL, skillfully facilitated again our meeting. Lenie Papa, Secot Coordinator of the US West of the SSCC Secular Branch, gave a thorough report on the many acts of devotion and charity that they are enthusiastically living out.
After the mass, we had a delicious community meal lovingly prepared by Maria and Adela.
