The General Governments of the Sisters and Brothers met from 22nd to 25th February, in the “Casa di Preghiera San Luca”, in Guarcino, for some days of reflection. The theme, prepared and animated by Aurora Laguarda, centred this year on “The Church” (The Congregation in the Church, our place in the Church). Starting from a sharing of our own personal experience of Church and the events and experiences, the joys and the pains which have marked us, through the experience of Church and Mission today; the need of our own personal and congregational path of conversion as evangelizers within the mission of the church and the place and contribution of consecrated life to the Church today.
Our reflection finished on an exploration of the image of Church held by our founders and reflection on our possible contribution as a Congregation today. Our days of reflection were accompanied by insights from “Evangelii Gaudium “and “Complices del Espiritu” by José Rey Cristo García Paredes.
Other articles on the history of Mission in the Congregation by Eduard Brion and Paula Teck reminded us of the changes and developments on our long congregational missionary journey. The easy informal atmosphere which characterises these meetings enabled us to share personally, to get to know each other at another level as well as deepening a theme of mutual interest and relevance to our role as congregational leaders.
