On Tuesday, May 27, Father Ángel, president of Messengers of Peace, traveled to the community of the SSCC sisters in Torrelavega to pay tribute to our sister Dominica (Domi) Valmaseda on her 100th birthday. Over the past two decades, Sister Domi has actively collaborated with the organization, especially in children's homes and nursing facilities, offering support and affection to those most in need. This gesture from Father Ángel highlights the importance of recognizing and celebrating the dedication of those who devote their lives to serving others.
The celebration included an emotional Mass during which Father Ángel expressed his gratitude to Sister Domi, emphasizing her commitment to the most vulnerable. "Today we gather to celebrate Domi’s life. A life consecrated not only to God but also to the little ones, to the most fragile," said the priest. The presence of the Congregation, family members, friends, and fellow mission partners reflected the positive impact of her work in various communities, from Torrelavega to Rome, Cáceres, and Madrid.
This gathering not only commemorates a century of life but also a path of service and love for others. Sister Domi represents the spirit of dedication and solidarity that characterizes the Sacred Hearts family, serving as an inspiring example for new generations committed to building a more just and compassionate world.
