On Friday, 27 November, a meeting of brothers and sisters who are in preparation for perpetual vows took place by videoconference. This meeting was prepared by the General Commissions for Initial Formation of brothers and sisters. It was led by the two Superiors General, Patricia Villarroel and Alberto Toutin. In their interventions, Patricia spoke of some ideas for dialogue: restructuring, the crisis of religious life and she offered some questions for the personal reflection of the brothers and sisters who are preparing for perpetual vows.
Alberto commented on this period of Covid-19 as an opportunity to break with the status quo. That this is a good opportunity to get in touch with the real poor who are by our side. We have to adapt to the new situation.
This time of meeting on line in which we were able see each other in the different places of the presence of the Congregation, is a treasure that we can carry everywhere, including times of crisis. We are reminded that on the day of our perpetual profession we are not alone.
There then followed an interesting dialogue between the participating brothers and sisters and the Superiors General. In total, 13 brothers and 5 sisters who are preparing for perpetual vows, the team of formators and those who helped with translation in three languages (English, Spanish and French) all took part in this meeting.
