In the February 2026 issue of the magazine MISIONEROS, published by the Pontifical Mission Societies of Spain, attention is drawn to an anniversary celebrated with special significance in Chile this past January. Here is the text:
Faith, poetry and commitment
The Cantata of Human Rights, by the Chilean priest Esteban Gumucio, served to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vicariate of Solidarity, an international benchmark of the Church’s commitment to human rights. The musical composition, performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile and the Andean music group Tempo Sur, could not have been better chosen. It brings together faith, poetry and ethical commitment. The event took place at the National Chilean Theatre.
