To mark the occasion of this year's 10th anniversary of the beatification of our Spanish Martyrs: Blessed Teófilo Fernández de Legaria Goñi and his companions, Fr. Andrzej Lukawski, Postulator General, visited Spain from 3-8 November. He made a pilgrimage to the church of the Sacred Hearts in Madrid, where their relics are kept. The solemn Mass for the five martyrs was celebrated in the aforementioned church on the evening of 6 November, the day of their liturgical memorial. It was presided over by the Superior of the Iberian Province, Fr. Pedro Gordillo sscc, who also gave the homily.
The Eucharist, celebrated with the participation of sscc brothers and sisters from nearby communities and parishioners, was an opportunity to give thanks, among others, for the long service of the vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonisation of our Spanish martyrs, Fr. Osvaldo Aparicio sscc, whom the Lord called home last June. The visit to Spain was also a time to discuss the appointment of the success of Father Osvaldo's as vice-postulator.
