On this feast day of our Founder, the Good Father, Pierre Coudrin, let us remember how he was able to accept the "quarantines" that life imposed upon him. The days in La Motte d'Usseau, a term of prolonged confinement, allowed him to dream of a Congregation that would spread the Gospel throughout the world.
Likewise, our Foundress, Henriette Aymer de la Chevalerie, lived her quarantine with her mother in prison. It was there that she discovered poverty and how God speaks to those who become poor.
Hopefully this time of isolation, lived in this Lenten season, will lead us to be in true solidarity with those who live lives immersed in loneliness, confusion and need. As we return again to our particular Galilee, let us renew our commitment to self-giving and generosity, following the example of our Founders, who risked their lives to be faithful to the Love of God.
May this time bless us with a sense of being a family together. In our daily adoration we meet each other and present to the Lord the tears of our world and the passion of so many crucified today. May He be our destiny, our guide and hope. Amen.
