Fraternal gathering of the Secular Branch (France)

The Secular Fraternity celebrated a fraternal day on July 20, marked by a spirit of community and the joy of reunion.

Representatives from various French communities — Christophe (Meaux), Marie, Laure and Christine (ND de Paix), Betty (Gabrielle de la Barre), Charles, André, and Marie-Agnès (Montgeron) — met with their Spanish brothers and sisters from the secular branch of Madrid in Picpus to share a day of fraternity.

The gathering was described as “a very beautiful day,” with all communities duly represented and a generous buffet that added flavor to the day.

Prior to this meeting, the Spanish participants visited Poitiers, Usseau, and Coussay-les-Bois, accompanied by Brother Antoine Mennecier sscc. Antoine, fully bilingual thanks to his experience in Spain and Latin America, facilitated communication and understanding among the participants. In Poitiers, they were warmly welcomed by Sisters Jeanne Cadiou sscc and Marie-Gabrielle Renou sscc.

The July 20 day concluded with an emotional visit to the Picpus cemetery and ended with a reflective moment of prayer, saying the Our Father in two languages.
