On the afternoon of June 3, the quarterly meeting of Spanish-speaking general secretaries took place at the General House of the Company of Mary. This session focused on the value of archives within general secretariats and featured presentations by Mª Beatriz Montaner, general secretary of the SSCC Sisters, and Rosa María Ramos, general secretary of the Company of Mary.
Beatriz emphasized that the work in archives, though small, discreet, and often tiring, “weaves the memory of the Congregation,” bringing to life its history and charism through the lives of brothers and sisters. She closed her talk with a reflection from Pope Francis, likening archival work to cultivating a majestic tree: deeply rooted in the Incarnation and reaching upward toward Heaven. Rosa María explained the different types of archives: administrative, intermediate, and historical. Both speakers were gifted with an image of Our Lady of Good Counsel in gratitude for their contributions.
