Today there is Sede Vacante in the Vatican, which began last night at 20:00, and for us it is also a special day to celebrate the Birthday of our Good Father, Pierre Joseph Marie Coudrin. He was born 245 years ago in Coussay-le-Bois, in Poitou region.
With the assistance of Bernard Couronne, the postulation is working on the elaboration of the positio; the presentation of documents and testimonies to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome. Alfred Bell, our postulator, tells that it may take a few years for the approval to earn the title of Venerable. Once achieved, there will be two more steps: to be recognized as Blessed (Beatification) which requires one approved miracle, and to be recognized as Saint (Canonization) which requires another miracle.
Let us support this cause with a prayer, like what the Generalate community of the brothers did at the Eucharist this morning:
God, our Father
you called your servant, Marie-Joseph Coudrin,
to found a new religious Congregation in the Church
that would spread everywhere
the infinite riches of your love
manifested in the Heart of Jesus, your Son,
and the Heart of Mary, his Mother.
Grant that the Church, by the Beatification of your servant,
might propose him as an authentic witness of your Gospel,
so that his ardent zeal and his confident prayer
might stimulate us to follow Jesus in our world today.
Let us burn with the same zeal
to contemplate your love active at the heart of our lives
and to announce your love always and everywhere.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
