Humanitarian crisis due to migration in Mexico

The increase in the flow of migrants is making the journeys more dangerous for undocumented migrants. Every day, thousands of South American migrants cross the southern border, 90 percent of them Venezuelan.

The Casa del Migrante el Samaritano in Bojay, run by our SSCC sisters, has been overwhelmed for some months now with more than a thousand migrants in a single day, hundreds of women and children are waiting for the "Beast", the train in which they can advance towards the north. In the house, it is very difficult to attend to so many people despite the efforts of volunteers, civil society and international organisations that provide support to this population.  Moreover, the arrival of winter brings illness for many children.

In these last days out in the open, the sisters can see how the families are looking for a plate of food and shelter, as they continue waiting for the train to stop so that they can continue on their journey.
