At the DSDI (Damien Institute for Social Development) office in Bhubaneswar, all the women staff were each presented with a rose. The director of DSDI voiced his appreciation of their contributions towards the transformation of society in the ministries they carry out in rural villages, urban slums and leprosy colonies.
Goretti Nayak sscc, who works in the Women's Office of the Archdiocese of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, and who also runs DSDI's Women's Empowerment Project, gave a motivating reflection on the importance of celebrating International Women's Day. She highlighted the contribution of women to society and to social transformation, their rights and the call for gender equality with dignity and mutual respect in our world today.
