The days of the assembly were centered on the theme of mercy. This meeting held in Punta de Tralca brought together almost all the brothers of the Province during the last week of January. This kind of meeting has been a tradition for the past 40 years.
A deep reflection on the call of Pope Francis to live this year 2016 as the Year of Mercy was being lived by the brothers during this occasion. It was animated by the presence of Gerardo Wijnant, who addressed the issue of fair trade.
On Thursday evening of 28 January 2016 there was a visit to the Los Perales farm, where the former Scholasticate of the Congregation used to be located. It was closed down in the mid-60s, and turned into a retreat house. Eucharist celebration was held in the newly restored church. The brothers sang the psalms beautifully, followed by dinner at the retreat house.
On the afternoon of Friday 29 january 2016 there was the temporary profession of Gustavo Pacheco and Bastian Mena. In his homily, Sandro Mancilla, their novice master, mentioned three signals that must always be present in their lives: the cross, the personal history and the action of God in the world.
In the end, Gustavo and Bastian thanked their families and their new Sacred Hearts family for welcoming them and for supporting them in this way of the religious life.
