With Aztec dancers, joyful singing, and a message full of hope, Juan Carlos Martínez sscc celebrated his first Spanish Mass on July 13 at his home parish, Holy Name of Mary, in San Dimas, California, where he has been part of the community for over two decades.
In his homily, the new priest spoke with joy, depth, and humor—drawing from the parable of the Good Samaritan—about the commandment to love one’s neighbor as oneself. He reminded us that only by recognizing our worth as beloved children of God can we truly love others.
