Kolkata celebrates faith and culture (India)

The Dangadighila Formation Community experienced days of deep faith and rich cultural diversity with two memorable celebrations. On August 10, St. Joseph’s Parish in Barrackpore was filled with color, music, and tradition during the celebration of Adivasi Day. Communities from various tribes and religions shared their roots through dances, songs, and speeches that highlighted fraternity and unity. Priests Samuel Bilung, Robert sscc, and Brother Elias MC encouraged participants to preserve their cultural values. The Dangadighila community actively participated, joining in prayer and joy to honor the living roots of India.

Days later, during the feast of Blessed Eustaquio, four philosophy students —Nihar, Pankaj, Christodas, and John— officially began their pre-novitiate program of the SSCC Congregation.

The solemn Eucharist, presided over by Sudhir Nayak sscc, brought together members of the Kolkata community in a gathering filled with emotion and commitment. The day concluded with blessings, cake cutting, dances, and a fraternal meal marking the beginning of their journey of discernment and service.
