"When one door closes, a window opens somewhere"
"It's official that on February 23 this year, the sscc community of Inhaminga will close its doors to make way for diocesan priests of Beira. Inhaminga has been a significant presence for our Congregation. It is the mother house of our missionary presence in Mozambique."
So begins the text of the Provincial Superior of Africa, Jean Blaise Mwanda Ndozi sscc, communicating the leaving of the Congregation from the Cheringoma area, where it has been present for almost sixty years. The houses of Inhaminga and Chupanga are going to be closed.
Chupanga had no community since a couple of years ago, but the parish is still served by the Inhaminga community, which has lately had three members.
The Archbishop of Beira, Dom Claudio della Zuanna, has appointed a priestly team for the mission in Inhaminga. The priestly team will arrive in Inhaminga on February 14, 2014 and will live with brothers present in the mission, in order to facilitate their integration into the new reality of Cheringoma in general and in particular in the 18 Christian communities of the parish. On February 23 the new team will begin their mission in Inhaminga .
