Marc Roque sscc recently returned to South Texas after completing his fourth year at the Pacific Regional Seminary. During his stay, he was interviewed for the second time by the public radio station KURV 710, as part of their coverage of current events, to talk about vocations and the Catholic priesthood.
In the interview, Marc shared recent data from the Diocese of Brownsville, indicating that the ratio of Catholic priests to parishioners is 1 to 10,165, meaning that each priest is assigned to minister to more than ten thousand faithful in the Rio Grande Valley. “That’s crazy,” he commented.
Marc emphasized the need for more workers in the Lord’s vineyard (Matthew 9:37-38) and called on the community to pray for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
