From the 19th to 25th October 2017 the treasurers of Latin America met in the Hermasie Paget, Retreat House in Lima, Peru. Among those present, were the general treasurer Pilar de la Prada, Flor de María Bazán a member of CES from Latin America, Candelaria Núñez the Superior Delegate and her council; Patricia Villarroel (Chile), Margarita Orozco (Colombia), Esther Alicia Armijos (Ecuador), Celsa Medina (Paraguay- Bolivia) and Valeria Gomes dos Santos (Peru, Brazil, Mexico) and the treasurers; Gloria Gaspar (Bolivia), Soledad Molina (Chile), Berta Córdoba (Colombia), Olga Añazco (Ecuador), Graciela Simón (Mexico), Yolanda Aguilar (Paraguay), Leonor Chávez (Peru) and Rosa Bogado ( Brazil) by Skype at a given time.
On the first day of the meeting our brother Raúl Pariamachi ss.cc Provincial of the Andina Province, led the reflection one morning with the theme, “Theology and Finances” which helped to introduce us to the objective of this meeting.
In the afternoon Pilar welcomed everyone and presented us with the objectives of the meeting:
-
To get to know each other better
-
To get to know the financial and economic situation of each country.
-
To present the situation of the communities and Works for the years 2012- 2016
-
A time of Formation with Dr. Lombardi.
-
Make some commitments and other themes.
We were grateful for the welcome received from our sisters in Peru, who facilitated the logistical part, enabling the meeting to take place in a warm, sisterly atmosphere.
Every day we had the celebration of the Eucharist and prayer in the evening led by each one of the treasurers.
Time was given to recreation, to getting to know something of the folklore of the place, a trip into the centre, visiting touristic places.
The last day ended with the evaluation of the meeting where everyone coincided that the meeting was worthwhile. We are bringing away questions and challenges for an improved management of finance.
