From the 11th to the 16th of July 2017, the Treasurers of the different Countries of the Zone Africa-Europe, gathered in San Lorenzo de el Escorial. Nuria Arias, Delegated Leader of the Zone and Nuria Lobo, Coordinator of Spain were also present.
Pilar Ruiz de la Prada, General Treasurer, reminded us of the objectives of this meeting, which included:
· To encourage and advance mutual knowledge.
· Know the financial and economic situation of each country.
· To give the Financial Report of each Country.
· To learn and understand how to improve our service, with the help of an expert, Dr. Lombardi.
· Etc.
The residence of our sisters and a flexible schedule gave us the possibility to move forward and achieve these goals.
They were days of individual and shared work, but we finished with the joy and satisfaction of having accomplished an important task.
Some afternoons we were able to discover this magnificent place of The Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, we also had time to meet with the Community of our sisters, with the Community of our brothers when we paid a visit to their Congregational Museum, to the Place where our brother Teófilo was assassinated, and also at night to enjoy some music in the Parque de los Bolos.
The evaluation was very positive and this meeting of bursars helped us understand the true service we can do for the life and mission of the Congregation. These meetings are important so that, among other things, the restructuring begun can be carried out and evaluated in each Zone before the next General Chapter.
