Education Coordinators of the ss.cc.: strengthen educational coordination and networking.
On 4 July, the Education Coordinators from the various provinces of the Congregation met: Antonieta Vergara (Chile–Paraguay), Otilia Salazar (Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Bolivia), María Elena Cabrera (Ecuador–Colombia), Nuria Lobo (Spain) and Susana Villarreal G., who is responsible for coordinating educational matters at the general level. The meeting was organised in response to the desire to walk together in the tasks entrusted to the Sisters of the Holy Family’s educational service by the 37th General Chapter.
During this first session, each coordinator presented the educational structure of her Province, the integration processes they are promoting, and the current situation of their schools: strengths, challenges and needs which they wished to share with the General Government.
During the discussion, the common challenges faced by our schools in the current social and technological context were highlighted, particularly with regard to teacher training, support for families and the mission of evangelisation in increasingly complex educational environments.
As a shared goal, the group expressed its desire to explore certain priority challenges in greater depth:
-
the issue of gender,
-
artificial intelligence and its impact on education,
-
and the challenges of evangelisation in schools.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue coordinating efforts to strengthen the SS.CC. educational identity and to move towards greater collaboration, whilst also agreeing to explore the issue of gender together in order to discern a coherent, responsible and evangelical institutional stance in the face of this challenge.
