From October 13 to 15, the Meeting of the General Commission of Initial Formation is taking place in Rome, together with the General Government, with the participation of Sister Pushpa Rani Arputham sscc representing the General Government.
The General Commission of Initial Formation is one of the interdependence bodies within the Congregation. Two important elements for the future: the formation teams are working on the fundamental questions of SSCC religious life, and in dreaming about the future, the “futures” are the laboratory of the religious life we desire.
Present at the meeting, together with the General Government and Pushpa, are: John Sawchenko, Sebastian Pieczeniak, Juan Manuel Torres, Felipe Lazcano, and Kevin Kupe (online).
During these days, reports are being presented on the Initial Formation of the conferences; spirituality, and missions by Frs. Rolf Reichenbach sscc and Mateo Crawley sscc; common novitiates; the 2026 preparation meeting for perpetual vows; experiences of internationality; SSCC spirituality after the Founders; the importance of objective criteria for clear and measurable evaluations in Initial Formation; the Initial Formation of the sisters; and the drafting of a work plan for the coming years.
