From 1 to 5 July the General Commission of Initial Formation (CGFI) had its meeting in Rome. Present at the meeting were: Leopoldo Antolin (Coordinator FI / CEA), David de la Torre (Coordinator FI / CIAL), Santhosh Thottankara (Coordinator FI / CAP), André Kibeti (representing the province Africa) and Pat Fanning (representing the province of the USA). From the General Government: Camille Sapu (coordinator CGFI) and Pankras Olak.
The agenda included the revision of the "Action Plan" prepared by the Commission in February 2012, and the development of a new plan for the coming years. Another topic discussed during the meeting was that of "individualism". This theme had been previously addressed by various Conferences and formators teams.
The Commission has also shared on the theme of formation of new formators, as well as those involved in formation who need more training.
The Commission then gave its opinion on the six-month program in preparation for perpetual vows. This time the experience will take place in Manila (Philippines). It will be open to participants from other geographical areas of the Congregation. The knowledge of English language will be important for this.
