The meeting of the General Government with the new Major Superiors is already in its third day. On Sunday, the 21st, after evening prayer and supper, the superior of the community in Rome, Juan Luis Schuester, welcomed the brothers on behalf of the entire community. Our brother Jerzy Cudnik was unable to be present as his mother has just died and he is in Poland.
Monday the 22nd was devoted to the group getting to know one another. There were some group dynamics by which they introduced themselves and their communities. The last activity of the day was the presentation, by "power point" (Why not!) of the present structures and presences of the Congregation.
Tuesday the 23rd was dedicated to "talking about the Congregation." The Superior General made a presentation of the General Government’s “vision” of the Congregation in light of the orientations of the last Chapter General and their knowledge they have been able to gain of the situation of the Congregation. Following the presentation there was work in small groups and in the afternoon there was a dialogue in the whole group. In this way a framework for the ministry of the Major Superiors was established. In the coming days we will look more closely at just that: the "art of governing."
