From 9-12th May, the last meeting of the two General Governments took place at the House of the Religious of the Sacred Heart in Torricella in Sabina (Italy). The meeting was prepared by Margarita Orozco sscc and Derek Laverty sscc.
During these days the two Governments reflected on the experience of animating the Congregation and the exercise of authority from 2018 to the present. It was a time to reflect on grateful memories and to share what it is that can continue to add life to our SSCC family. We shared the Reports for the General Chapters of both Governments, seeing the common points and challenges. The figure of Saint Damian was present on the day of his liturgical feast. Finally, on Sunday the 12th there was discussion about some common issues for the upcoming Chapters.
The meeting culminated with the celebration of the Eucharist on the solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, animated by the Superior Generals, Patricia Villarroel and Alberto Toutin. We were joined by the two communities of SSCC brothers and sisters of Rome, and concluded with a festive meal.
