Meeting of the Patrimony Commission with theology students

On Saturday, November 8, an online meeting took place between the Commission on Spiritual and Historical Patrimony and the SSCC brothers and sisters who are theology students.

After an initial time of prayer, each of the brothers and sisters introduced themselves and indicated what studies they are pursuing. Then, the recommendation made by the 2024 General Chapters to the Heritage Commission was recalled, specifically regarding theology students: “That the Commission on Spiritual and Historical Heritage remain in contact with the brothers and sisters engaged in specialized studies. They will be asked to collaborate in the research and dissemination of the Congregation’s spiritual heritage.”

Each of the students shared what they are studying, ranging from spirituality to dogmatic or biblical theology and philosophy. For example, one of the topics under study is the action of grace in the Good Mother, the spirituality of the SSCC, listening to the poor, Providence and trust in the Good Father, and the spirituality of the Foundress (the meaning of the cross and the meaning of kenosis). They also made several requests to the Commission: to facilitate access to congregational documents grouped by themes, to invite them to write articles for INFO or other publications, and to indicate which elements of the charism should be explored in greater depth.

Information was also shared about the International Symposium on Health and Peace, held last August in Brazil, focused on the figure of Blessed Eustaquio, approached in an interdisciplinary way with the collaboration of the Pontifical University of Minas. Likewise, information was given about the Colloquium on Father Mateo, which will take place on November 15 and 16 in Paray-le-Monial (France).

Before closing with a prayer, preparation began for an in-person meeting in Rome during the first week of September 2027 with the SSCC brothers and sisters who are theology students.
