From 24-26 November, the Spiritual Animation Team of the Secular Branch held a meeting through videoconference. Goyi Marín, Derek Laverty and Fernando Cordero were in the General House of the Sisters, Claire Marie Bouchard participated from her community in the US and Rosa Elena Barros from Ecuador. One of the central points on the agenda was the revision of the Statutes of the Secular Branch. Drawing from the contributions of members of the Secular Branch from different countries, the team was able to integrate many of the proposals and subsequently drew up a draft document that will be sent out again to the laity and the General Governments of the Congregation, with a view to arriving at a definitive text that will be presented to the Holy See.
The Statutes currently in force were introduced in 1993.
Following on from this, the team reviewed the work of the three commissions of the Secular Branch: Formation, Prayer and Communication. The Action Plan of the Spiritual Animation Team of the Secular Branch was also reviewed and later on work will bevdone to renew the Index. Finally, the suggestion coming from the Commission for Spiritual and Historical Patrimony regarding a Cahier de Spiritualité with the title "SSCC walking together" was welcomed.
