Every year, the young priests of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (SSCC), who have been ordained for less than ten years, gather together to share experiences and deepen their pastoral and spiritual reflection.
This year, the meeting is being held in Pangkalpinang, a meaningful place to reflect on the footsteps of the first SSCC missionaries from the Netherlands who brought the mission to Indonesia.
On the first day of the meeting (18 May), participants arrived from different regions of the country and gathered at the Mother House of the KKS Sisters, a local congregation founded by Bishop Vitus Bouma, SSCC, in Pangkalpinang. The sisters warmly welcomed all the participants and shared lunch with them in a spirit of fraternity.
Afterwards, the priests continued their journey to Toboali Parish. Each priest was sent to different Christian communities (Lingkungan or Stasi), where they celebrated the Eucharist and shared their experiences of faith with the faithful.
The parishioners joyfully welcomed the presence of the young priests and experienced the living SSCC spirit within their communities.
