On Sunday 16th October, in the sector of Papara, Papeete, the Superior General, Alberto Toutin, met with members, supporters and friends of the secular branch. In total there were about 30 people. The coordinator, Irène Bodenan, welcomed them in her house. 4 sscc brothers from Pirae were also present. After a warm welcome, with music, tiare wreaths and words of welcome, it was time for the Ma'a or typical meal. All this was framed by the beauty of a turquoise sea.
Emilie Lenoir recalled the origins of the secular branch, thanks to Fr Jean-Pierre Le Guevel (who died on 18 December 2017 in Morea) and its current service and formation activities. This year, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Fr Caprais Cavaignac sscc (26 February 1922), a group of them went to Rimatara, in the Austral Islands to place a plaque of remembrance. They also announced that for 2023 their plans are to participate in the beatification of our brother martyrs of Paris and to participate in the international online meeting of the Secular Branch in July. Alberto, for his part, encouraged them to continue to share the sscc spirituality they have received in their families, workplaces and Christian communities. “Mauruuru" (thank you) for the journey together lay people and sscc brothers.
