I thanked God with a grateful heart, and I sincerely thanked the sisters for giving me this beautiful opportunity to serve and for the rich missionary experience entrusted to me in Indonesia, especially in Laubalen. This mission was a precious gift in my life, through which I experienced God’s guidance, love, and grace in many ways.
I began my tutorial program in January with just one student with the help of our sisters and fathers. With time, patience, and God’s grace, it gradually grew, and I was blessed with 30 students, with 25 attending regularly. From Monday to Saturday, I taught English to these students. In addition, from Monday to Thursday, I served at the local school, teaching English to students from Classes 1 to 6. Alongside my teaching ministry, I learned Bahasa Indonesia at the school, which helped me connect more deeply with the students, teachers, and the local community.
Beyond teaching, I also led a Zumba dance class for 25 women, which became a joyful and unifying activity for the community. I regularly visited families in different villages, participated in feasts, celebrations, and community gatherings, and spent time listening to people and sharing life with them. These visits helped me understand different cultures, lifestyles, and vocations, and they deeply touched my heart.
There were challenges in the beginning, especially with language, food, and adjusting to a new environment. However, with a willing heart and trust in God, these difficulties slowly turned into blessings. My intention was never only to teach English, but to touch hearts, build relationships, and walk closely with the people. Over time, I became not just a teacher, but a friend whom the students and their families trusted and felt comfortable with.
During my mission in 2025, I also had the opportunity to attend a vocation camp in Pekanbaru and to visit our communities, sisters, and brother missions in different parts of Indonesia. Witnessing the dedication and simple lives of our sisters and the people they served was a deeply enriching and faith-strengthening experience for me.
Above all, my daily prayer, personal adoration, and faith-sharing sustained me throughout this journey. These moments with the Lord rooted me deeply in His love and guided all that I did. I thanked God for His abundant blessings and for walking with me every step of the way.
Once again, I thanked God and the sisters for this meaningful missionary experience. Serving in Indonesia, especially in Laubalen, was a grace-filled journey that strengthened my faith, enriched my vocation, and filled my heart with joy and gratitude.
